product reveiw: Sacha cream foundation
http://www.sachacosmetics.com/static/userReview.phphi peeps, so it's been a while? So sorry for the long silence. I'm trying to rekindle my love for blogging and today I'm doing a review of Sacha cosmetics cream foundation.
I needed cream foundation for my kit (remember I'm a full time beautician now) so i contacted a fellow MUA in Lagos and she talked me into buying this tester kit from Sacha in medium to dark. There is also light to medium kit for Caucasians. so here are my tots, enjoy!
What Sacha says:

What Sacha says:
Why are Sacha Foundations different?
Women with exotic skin (African, Indian, Latin, Asian, darker Caucasian and multi-racial women) have yellow undertones. To get a perfect match, we must wear foundations with a natural yellow base. Sacha yellow-based foundations will perfectly match your exotic skin, giving you a flawless finish. It has excellent coverage, natural sun block and is lightweight on the skin.
What is it?
Sacha Cream-to-Powder Foundation Tester Kits that allow you easily find your perfect shade. Our Second Skin foundations are yellow-based and will match your exotic skin more perfectly than any other brand.
My tots:
I used the "cocoa beige" shade for my bride, she had never used foundation and she wanted one that would blend into her skin without the "ashy" look.this is what it looked like when i snapped her with my 10.5pixels Samsung camera.(pls don't mind the picture quality)
this was after the church service and for someone who did not even want makeup at all, i'll say she looks natural and radiant which is the look i aimed for.
however, i have some observations:
1. forget about the applicator that comes with it, it is USELESS! get a foundation brush or wedge, i found out it looks better blended when i applied it with a wedge than when i used my Tara foundation brush.
2.it sure does blend into the skin once you get the proper shade.
3. it is easy to build coverage and can be used without concealer for ladies with relatively good skin
4. Sue me, but i've tried MAC and i think this beats it in a way cause it does not have that heavy look.
I bought mine N3,000 but on the website it sells for $10, the full palette however sells for $100 and ill say it's worth it.
So peeps there you have it, my first review!
phew!

IN A MAZE
I'd like to borrow the words of Sasha in her hit single ADARA where she says "i want to write about this stress, wanna get it off my chest".
I have a lot of things on my mind now, things i want to do, things i wish i had done, things i wish i hadn't done.
How do i explain the fact that i'm a geologist, working in a bank, write songs, sing and hope to one day have a radio station dedicated solely to....(won't tell, don't steal my idea...lol)?
How do i explain that though my heart is in another town, i'm stuck here in Lagos?
How do i explain my dreams so high and lofty,oh how do i?
How do i explain that what i'd rather be doing right now is talk show hosting?
Maybe i should just stop whinning and start acting...shey?
Maybe start with recording a song,
Maybe start a talk show,
Maybe take this exam i've been eyeing for six months,
Maybe....
Oh am i making any sense?
This is my Maze,
Life is a Maze.

BILL AGAINST INDECENT DRESSING
HMNNN................................................................................................................................
I HAD TO SIGH AFTER READING THE ARTICLE ON THE ABOVE IN THE SUNDAY EDITION OF THISDAY STYLE (THE KINDA STUFF THAT MAKES PEOPLE LIKE ME READ THE PAPERS) TITLED BYE BYE TO ALL THAT. THIS IS NOT BECAUSE I'M AN ADVOCATE OF LADIES AND INDEED GENTLEMEN(OR ROUGH MEN...AS THE CASE MAY BE) DRESSING INNAPROPRIATELY,ON THE CONTRARY, I HAVE ENOUGH MORAL AND RELIGIOUS VALUES INSTILLED IN ME BY FAMILY AND CHURCH TO THINK OTHERWISE, IT'S JUST THAT I THOUGHT OF THE PROS AND CONS, THEN CAME TO THE CONCLUSION THAT THIS MATTER WILL BE BETTER RESOLVED IN SOME OTHER WAYS.
BEFORE I GO INTO THOSE WAYS, I'D LIKE TO ASK SOME QUESTIONS:
1. HAS ANYBODY THOUGHT OF WHAT POWER THIS BILL, IF PASSED INTO LAW WILL GIVE OUR ALREADY TRIGGER AND MOLESTATION HAPPY LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENTS?
2.DO WE KNOW THAT THE WORD INDECENT IS A RELATIVE TERM AND INDEED CAN BE USED TO SUIT PERSONAL INTEREST AND PURPOSES?
3. LIKE IT WAS RAISED IN THE ARTICLE, WHAT HAPPENS TO ALL OUR RECREATION, SPORTS, CULTURAL AND OTHER RELATED ACTIVITIES? (AS THERE WAS NO PROVISION FOR SUCH IN THE BILL PRESENTED)
4.HAS IT EVR BEEN PUT TO CONSIDERATION THAT IN MOST CIVILIZED ENTITIES, EACH STSTE HAS ITS OWN GOVERNING LAWS (OR CODES)?
OK, ENOUGH OF THE QUESTIONS.
WOULDN'T IT BE MORE APPROPRIATE IF SUCH BILLS AS TO INCORPORATE CUMPULSORY ORIENTATION PROGRAMMES AT ALL LEVELS OF EDUCATION BE PURSUED?
LETS START TEACHING VALUES RIGHT FROM PRE-NURSERY, LESSONS LIKE HOW TO STAND IN A QUEUE AND WAIT FOR YOUR TURN, OBEYING TRAFFIC RULES, RESPECT FOR ELDERS, RELIGOUS AND CONSTITUTED AUTHORITIES, SHARING AND GIVING, SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY, GOOD SAMARITANSHIP(IF SUCH A WORD DOESN'T EXIST, I HEREBY CREATE IT!), AND SUCH LIFE MOULDING LESSONS.
ON THE BRIGHTER SIDE,MAYBE THIS WOULD BRING THE BIG BREAK FOR OUR LOCAL TAILORS WHOSE SPECIALITY IS THE YORUBA TRADITIONAL WEARS OF "IRO AND BUBA, AGBADA, DANSHIKI N CO.. AS THESE ARE PROBABLY THE ONLY STYLES THAT FIT ARE EXEMPTED FROM "INDECENCY" BY THE BILL.

DOES IT REALLY MATTER?
I read an article in the april edition of true love w/a magazine which sought ladies opinion on the ability of thier spouses/dates to speak good english. I'm currently wondering if it really does matter! I guess i'm a bit indifferent because i'm lucky that my pretty brown eyes does speak very good english, so i'd like to know your opinion. Lets know what you think and why. I'm waiting.....
COVER GIRL
This year, next year, sometime, whenever, i really cannot tell. All i know is that one day, i'm going to be on the cover of true love magazine. I'm a young make up artist, beader, sonwriter, singer, voice over model (and if i can call what my mom and i wear designs,i'll add a fahion designer too) . I know deep within my heart that one or all of these gifts of mine will help me achieve my aim.
Each time i open an edition of true love magazine, i read stories of successful women who rose from being unknown to being celebrated,i am greatly challenged to be the best in whatever i find myself doing, i want to be a testiomony of hard work, favour and above all, the grace of God.
So keep up the good work true love crew,God bless y'all.

BEAUTIFUL YOU AGAIN!!!
" I MAY NOT BE A PRINCESS, BUT I HAVE MY OWN DIARY
I MAY NOT BE A BEAUTY QUEEN, I KNOW
BUT I"M ROYAL IN MY OWN RIGHTS
I FEEL GOOD ABOUT MYSELF
I'M COOL, I'M YOUNG I'M HEALTHY
LONG AS I'M DOING GOOD TO ALL ELSE,
I KNOW, I'M SURE, I'M BEAUTIFUL INSIDE OUT........
There goes the first verse of one of the songs I composed years ago. Its a song of realisation. I got to a point in life where I realised that I don't need anybody's approval to be beautiful, cool and enjoy being me. I am a splitting image of God(don"t blame me, I didn't say it , he did!Gen 1:26), and I've got all I need to be the best.
You need to realize that your body is the house in which you live and believe me, its beautiful the way it is, whatever you do is to complement such beauty.
So dearest you, don't let that man, woman put you down and make you feel less important than you obviously are, above all lift your head high look closely into the mirror of your soul, make yourself beautiful from the inside(ask me how? good works of course!) and live your life.
Remember the saying" you are where(or what) you are because that is exactly what you want to be, if not, you would be in the process of changing it right now!!!

still on those eyes
THE EYES AS IT IS SAID IS THE MIRROR OF THE SOUL HENCE, THE EMPHASIS ON EYE MAKE UP. BELOW IS A BLOW BY BLOW, DESCRIPTION OF AN EYE CATCHING EYE MAKEUP. ENJOY!!!
Apply a concealer under your eyes to cover any dark circles. Sakib suggests that you use a darker shade than the typical ivory tones, for a more natural look.
Apply liquid base to the lids - this helps keep the color on your lids longer and also adds a glow.
(This is when you would also apply base to the rest of your face and neck, preferably using a sponge applicator for an even finish)
Apply a liquid eyeliner, a thin line is sufficient. Just go with the natural shape of your eye.
Wet a sponge shadow applicator and cover the entire lid with it. This technique makes it easier for the powder eye shadow to stick to your eye.
Now apply the powder eye shadow to to the entire lid
Use a darker shade of the same color shadow on the corners of the eyes. This makes the eyes look bigger.
Now reapply the eyeliner and smudge the ends for a smoky look
Take a blending brush and blend the colors for a softer look
You can apply a darker shade on the crease of the eye to add more drama and color to your eyes.
Finally, don't forget to finish up with an even coat of mascara on both upper and lowerlids.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
HI EVERYONE, AND WELCOME TO 2008, THIS YEAR I'M GOING TO GIVE US ALL TIPS ON MAKE-UP, BEADING, MUSIC, RELIGION AND ALL. ITS GOING TO BE A BALANCED YEAR. AND YES I'LL KEEP UP WITH THE BOOK, GETTING THERE, STAYING THERE. THIS YAER AS WELL, PRETTY BROWN EYES AND I ARE GOING TO THE ALTAR. I'M ALSO GOING TO START A BEADING/MAKE-UP/DESIGN OUTFIT/SCHOOL IN IBADAN. ONE OTHER THING I WANT TO DO THIS YEAR IS TO WORK WITH PRETTY BROWN EYES ON OUR DEBUT ALBUM.SO YOU SEE THIS YEAR IS GOING TO BE REALLY BUSY FOR ME. OK LETS START THIS WAY, ILL GIVE YOU BLOW BY BLOW TIPS ON MAKE -UP WHEN WE ARE THROUGH, IF YOU NEED PRACTICAL CONSULTATIONS, JUST RING MY BELL 08023934247 AND WE'LL WORK SOMETHING OUT. HERE'S THE IST! HOW TO PREPARE YOUR FACE FOR MAKE-UP For the best final result, you must meticulously prepare your face for the actual application of the makeup. A.Identify The Structure Of Your Face:This is very important, so that you can understand the high points and the drawbacks of your face. Then you will be able to emphasize the excellent features of your face and camouflage your handicaps.Faces are of 2 basic shapes: 1.Angular Faces are well delineated, with a strong bone structure and musculature.Angular faces could be trapezoidal, rectangular, square or triangular.2.Round Faces, on the other hand, have curved, continuous, gently sloping lines, without any bony projections.Round faces can be oval or the true round form. The ideal shape of a face is oval, so with the clever use of make-up, you must attempt to make your face appear oval. This can be done by using foundations of different tones-The dark shades(brown or bister) and the pale shades(white or clear).Dark make-up tends to reduce, deepen, darken and conceal and is suitable for contouring prominent cheeks, large noses, chubby faces, and for the bags under the eyes.Pale makeup, on the other hand, enlarges lengthens, brightens, fills out, and covers the dark circles under the eyes. B.Getting Ready:Before applying makeup, especially if you are dressing for a rather important occasion, you must prepare yourself in a special way.Massage your face with a nourishing cream, follow it up with a suitable mask.See that there are no dark hair visible on the face-bleach them or pluck them, if necessary. You might need to remove unwanted hair from your arms, legs and underarms. C.Shaping Your Eyebrows:The single most important point to remember when shaping your eyebrows is balance.Your facial shape would to a large extent determine the shape of your eyebrows. Here are some tips to help you decide on the shape of your eyebrows.1.For A Trapezoidal Face: Slightly thick eyebrows drawn gently towards the temple.2.For A Rectangular Face: Keep the eyebrows as natural as possilble.3.For A Square Face: Give a slightly rounded curve.4.For A Triangular Face: Brows should not be too thick.Curve the brows slightly upwards, to emphasize the triangular shape of the face.5.For An Oval Face: Keep the brows parallel to the lid and drawn towards the temple.6.For A Round Face: Brows should be slightly arched, in an oblique curve directed towards the temple. MORE TIPS NEXT WEEK. KEEP UP!!!

I was supposed to go for my high school set reunion with my girl yesterday. All dressed up, we were ready to go when her car started messing up. it took the mechanic 3hours to fix the car, by which time, the stuff would have almost been over. How sad, i had cold feeet through the night, and when i saw the pictures on facebook, all those cute faces i havent seen in close to year, i felt soooooooooooooooooo sad. I hope there's another one sometime soon. pleaseeeeeee girls, lets do it again!!!
getting there, staying there!
Hi, how have you been? Just thought you might like to take a sneak peep at the book i was (or so i thought) writing.
I titled it “getting there, staying there” (philosophical, right?). it ws a result of my daily sights and musing a few years back and though i havent practised much of it myself, i came accross my manuscripts a few weeks ago and i’v decided to take any bull,by its horn. I hope you enjoy reading it, learn from it and act on it.
PREFACE:
“Land was wealth 300 years ago, so the person who owned the land owned the wealth. Then it was factories and production, and america rose to dominance. Today, it is information. And the person who has the most timely information oowns the wealth. The problem is information flies all around the world at the speed of light. New wealth cannot be contained by boundaries as land and factories were. The changes will be faster and more dramatic. There will be a dramatic increase in the number of multimillionares and there will also bethose who are left behind.” Robert Kiyosaki (rich dad poor dad)
To know is to have an idea, to understand is to discern the intricacies of the idea and to be wise is to be able to make good use of that idea, I want to be wise!
INFORMATION, THE MAKING OF A MAN.
The topic of this chapter was culled from a church programme i attended a few years back and i couldn’t agree less.
In the beginning, when Adam and Eve ate the forbidden friut, thier eyes opened and they suddenly felt shame and nakedness. Before eating the friut however, they were ignorant of their state but after the deed, they they became knowledgable of their state. I would at this point say that information can do one of two things; make or marr you.
If Adam and eve had chosen to eat of the tree of the friut of life, which i would gladly have chosen if given the choice(who cares about know what is good or evil when you can know the secret of living forever),then could have had that one inforamtion that would have “made” them and indeed the whole human race.
Enough about Adam and eve, we know information can do either of two things; make or marr, so how do we get information that makes and avoid those that marr?
See you next time...

I'm back!
Phew!!! what a holiday, i had funnnnnnnnnnnnnn. It started on Tuesday, with my branch's end of year party. We contributed money added our late comers' fine, hired a dj, made small chops, ordered food from a restaurant and danced our feet out. We also had awards like most punctual, best dressed, best behaved, blah blah blah, but yours truly did not get any of those...lol After the party,i left like 8.30 p.m, i had to wait for like 2 hours before i got a cab to take me home. Traffic was mad from the island to ikeja, i got home 1 a.m!
The next day, Wednesday, being a public holiday, i travelled to "that ancient city" with pretty brown eyes. We went shopping, bought some nice xmas gifts for our parents, went out for lunch... and later in the evening, he took me home to my Father's house (yeah... u tot i wouldn't go right?). Thursday was double fun i took Big treat ice cream for the first time! and yeah, I've been missing. I just hope my dream of fitting into a size 10 wedding dress will not be ruined.
OK, i'm back in Lagos and i miss my brother. He says he enjoyed reading my blog, nice. and i want to say thanks to omo oba for the nice comment, you rock!! Gotta go, see ya later
